Willie Moore, III, a lifelong resident of Jasper, has served the people of Jasper for more than 30 years. Willie graduated from Walker High School in 1977 and attended Walker Junior College. He was employed for 7 years by the ABC Drummond Coal Mining. He then became employed by the Jasper Parks and Recreation Board for the City of Jasper for 30 years. Willie served in many leadership capacities in the Parks system until his retirement from the city in 2016.
Willie is the son of the late Willie Moore Jr. and Bernice Gaines Moore. Moore is married to Mary Travis Moore, and he has two children, Lashunna (deceased) and Willie IV (LaKesha). He has 3 grandchildren (Jabari, DaTorrey, and Wil). He is a Deacon in the First Baptist Church of Frisco and has been a leader, mentor, and role model for the children of his community and throughout the city. Moore currently serves on the following boards and activities: Jasper City School Board, G-MEN of Walker County, ARPA State Board of Directors, ARPA CDS, Walker County DHR Advisory Committee, WCCA, ARC of Walker County, Volunteer for Boy Scouts of America - Troop 383. Willie's main hobby is sports officiating.
