Jenny Brown Short is a Jasper native, a graduate of Walker High School (’79), and attended Auburn University completing a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree (’83,’84) in Communication Disorders. Jenny began a career in brain injury rehabilitation with a specialty in swallowing disorders working in hospitals and nursing homes.
After moving away from Jasper for many years, she returned in 2012 and began participating in various community efforts dedicated to the growth and development of Jasper. She has served as President of Jasper Main Street and Chair of Livable Communities of the Walker County Health Action Partnership. She serves on the City of Jasper Zoning/Planning Commission, Cawaco RC & D Board, and the Your Town Alabama Board. She is a graduate of Leadership Walker County and Leadership Alabama (Class XXVIII).
Jenny is married to Jasper native, Mike Short. She has two daughters, Abby and Chesley, and a stepson, Will. She is thrilled to be back home with family and friends and dedicated to doing her part to make Jasper a better place to live, learn, work and play.
