A.P. Howell Park

A.P. Howell Park is situated on the grounds of the old Walker County Training School and is named for the long-time coach, A.P. Howell. A.P. Howell Park sign It is commonly referred to as Coke Oven Park. In 2022, the Jasper City Council approved nearly $1 million in funding to improve parks throughout the community. As part of this investment, A.P. Howell Park received a brand-new playground, replacing the previous equipment with modern, updated play features designed for children and families to enjoy. The park offers a range of outdoor activities including a softball field, playground, pickleball courts, basketball courts, walking trail, pavilions, and splash pad. The splash pad is open daily, in season, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Park Hours: Monday through Thursday: 4:00 am - 9:00 pm; Friday through Sunday: 4:00 am - 11:00 pm (Sec. 15-5)
