November 8, 2022 - On March 15, 2022, the Jasper City Council approved the purchase of a commercial garbage truck. Shortly thereafter, the truck was purchased outright for $308,000, and yesterday morning the truck was delivered to the landfill. The 2023 Mack Front Loader TerraPro truck features a compact design, allowing for improved maneuverability, and has a load capacity of approximately 14 tons. It is equipped with an integrated powertrain for increased fuel efficiency and lower maintenance costs, and the critical electrical components of the truck are rodent proof which will contribute to its longevity. The brand-new front loader was put into the rotation last night, successfully completing its first full route on the downtown business route. The City of Jasper is proud to serve our citizens with high-quality, long-lasting waste management equipment.
