January 12, 2024 - The Connected Jasper project is underway as workers today began electrical installation. Equipment to support Connected Jasper will be housed at Jasper City Hall. The technology side of the project is being handled by TengoInternet, and as we’re told, service will be available sometime in the second quarter of 2024. What made this project a reality is a $1.6 million grant that came through the State of Alabama Department of Labor. The resulting benefit will be free public Wi-Fi in downtown Jasper, Maddox Middle School, and local housing authorities.
