November 17, 2023 - ICYMI: At Tuesday’s council meeting, Mayor David O’Mary and the council proclaimed November 17-23 as Farm-City Week in Jasper, encouraging all citizens to join in recognizing the accomplishments of our productive farmers and to give thanks to those who grow, harvest, and bring food to our tables. Mayor presented the proclamation to Dorman Grace, a multi-generational farmer and representative of our local farm effort.
At the end of the meeting, Presiding Officer Jennifer W. Smith, who recently achieved Certified Municipal Official Emeritus status from the League of Municipalities, passed the gavel to Councilmember Jenny Brown Short who was appointed by the council to serve as their next Presiding Officer. She will preside over the council's next meeting on December 5.
