The Jasper Civil Service has scheduled the following exams in order to create a Register for each position.
To qualify for the exam, all applicants must be a citizen of the United States and present a copy of the following document AT THE TIME OF MAKING APPLICATION:
1. Current Drivers License
2. Social security card
3. Birth Certificate
4. High School Diploma or GED
5. Three letters of recommendation (from non city employees) signed and must include phone no.
1. Police Officer – Test Date: September 29, 2026
Time: 9:00 am
Deadline to apply: September 22, 2026 10:00 am
Starting Pay: 46,963.52 annual
Age requirement: Minimum 21
2. Communications Officer: Test Date: September 30, 2026
Time: 9:00 am
Deadline to apply: September 22, 2026 10:00 am
Starting Pay: 36,687.83 annual
3. Corrections Officer: Test Date: September 28, 2026
Time 9:00 am
Deadline to apply: September 22, 2026 10:00 am
Starting Pay: 40,496.49 annual
4. Building Maint Tech: Test Date: September 28, 2026
Time: 9:00 am
Deadline to apply: September 22, 2026 10:00 am
Starting Pay: 36,687.83 annual
This pay could possibly be raised for 2027.
Applications may be obtained at Jasper City Hall, 3rd FLOOR, Monday through Friday 8-4 pm , or by visiting www. Jaspercity.com (navigate to the Civil Service Board) to download an application.
All considered for hire must pass a background check, drug test, and any other requirements for the position.
